Combining Assessments, Planning and Training that Deliver Proven Defensive Solutions
The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course is intended for all law-abiding United States citizens regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation.
The Blended training format provides students the flexibility to complete a significant portion of the course in a home based, self-study, eLearning environment, prior to arriving for the 5 hour classroom and range session with the NRA Certified Instructor. The instructor can provide you with a Course Control Code for the eLearning Module (at no additional charge) and directions for completing the self-study portion of the course prior to the classroom and range date.
This course exceeds the Florida's safety training and shooting competency requirements necessary to apply for your Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License through the Florida Department of Agriculture.
This course does not meet the requirement if you want to become an NRA Pistol Instructor.
You must bring your Driver's License or other official Government issued ID. No experience or firearm is needed. We will provide a firearm, eye protection and hearing protection, if needed at no additional cost. If you have your own firearm, it is always best to train and practice with what you intend to use. You will need 100 to 200 rounds of ammunition.
In order to successfully pass this course students must first pass the eLearning module; display a positive attitude toward handgun safety; and successfully complete live fire qualification at nationally standardized targets placed at 10 feet.
Passing rate for this course is extremely high due to personalized attention, methods of training, and time involved.
If, for any reason, you cannot pass this course you will be given an opportunity to return , at no additional charge, and complete the sections of difficulty. A poor attitude toward firearms safety or the inability to learn safe gun handling skills are the only things that will guarantee a failure without the ability to return.
This course is $99.00 per person. A $35.00 non-refundable course deposit is required to reserve your seat.
