The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting - Instructor Led Only course is intended for all law-abiding United States citizens regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation.
The Instructor Led Only course takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment. This course may be completed in a single day format or over several days with smaller blocks of instruction that fit your busy schedule.
This course, also, exceeds the State of Florida safety training and shooting competency requirements necessary to apply for your Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License through the Florida Department of Agriculture.
This course is required if you want to become an NRA Pistol Instructor.
You must bring your Driver's License or other official Government issued ID . No experience or firearm is necessary. We will provide a firearm, eye protection and hearing protection, if needed, at no additional cost. If you have your own firearm, it is always best to train and practice with what you intend to use. You will need 100 to 200 rounds of ammunition.
In order to successfully complete this course students must display a positive attitude toward handgun safety; successfully complete live fire qualification at nationally standardized targets placed at 10 feet; and pass a 50 question test.
Passing rate for this course is extremely high due to personalized attention, methods of training, and time involved.
If, for any reason, you cannot pass this course you will be given an opportunity to return, at no additional charge, and complete the sections of difficulty. A poor attitude toward firearms safety or inability to learn safe gun handling skills are the only things that will guarantee a failure without the ability to return.
